Throughout history women and girls face additional obstacles and discrimination solely because of their gender. As an organization of business and professional women we feel uniquely qualified to help women and girls live their dreams.
Central East Coast Region is one of 28 regions of SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL OF THE AMERICAS, an international volunteer organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world.
Our Region began in 1922 with the establishment of the Washington, DC Club, our organization has been making a difference since 1921.

Each year, our region awards cash scholarships to women, many of whom have overcome enormous obstacles as well as girls who donate their time and energy to causes that make the community and world a better place.
